Description
This is a 470 Ohm, 1 watt resistor used to trick the PCM on a 7.3L Powerstroke into thinking that the exhaust back pressure valve is functioning properly when in fact the EBPV connector is disconnected.
The EBPV system on a 7.3L can be disabled by simply disconnecting the electrical connector to the EBPV solenoid. This sets a diagnostic trouble code since the PCM identifies that the system is not functioning. Installing a 470 solenoid fooler resistor between the two terminals on the EBPV engine harness connector fools the PCM into thinking the system is functioning properly and thus keeps the code from being set.
